Drawings of Splatoon original character designs 1. Fisher Octoling from previous drawings. They're short and stout, and are wearing a colorful straw cloak and a hat made from a water bottle. They're clutching a harpoon. They're 19 years old. They live in the desert, and are one of the 11 members of the Swallower clan. 2. Diagram of the fisher's harpoon rifle. It looks pretty junky. It isn't an ink-based weapon. It is effective at taking small to medium-sized game, and its ownership does not require a specialized permit. 3. Lanky Inkling girl with cornrows. She's wearing a wraparound skirt with a tessellating crocodile wax print pattern, and a headwrap with an ice plant pattern. A variety of headwear is used to protect the tentacles and head-arms from sunburns. Head wraps like the one she's wearing are popular in some parts of the world, though rarer in Inkadia. She's 17 years old, and lives in the city with her two younger cousins.

(New) Agent 3, aka Pirarara from Cuen San (Her name is 'Pirarara'. Some Octo cultures don't usually have family names. Hometown is used on legal documentation instead.): She doesn't dress like this outside of scavenger work. It's easy to assume that she is constantly upset, but this is rarely the case. A lot of people don't know that her preferred ink color is actually purple. 2. Pirarara's splashtag with a custom trans pride background from https://seymourschlong.github.io/splashtags 3. Littlest Buddy, Destroyer of Ankles (self explanatory name) 4. Drawing of Little Buddy saying "awgwegbla" 5. Map showing the location of Cuen San under the mountains on the Splatsville peninsula. Its population is < 1000, mostly sharks, rays, and octopuses. Means "red salt mountain". Its salt flats have lately become a popular sightseeing destination. 6. Childhood photo of Pirarara and father (a jovial Octostriker wearing a straw hat) in front of their house. It's a stilted yurt built to withstand desert heat and flooding. There's a leaf sheep nudibranch hanging out behind it. Her father is non-patrilinial. Due to maternal mortality rates in old times, it's common in most Octo cultures to be raised by people that are not your direct parents. He is a clone born from an older family member's limb cuttings. 7. Drawing of little buddy sleeping in a large saltwater reef tank, next to a ripped up teddy bear. Little Buddy is a vagrant 2-year-old collectively raised by multiple teenagers. Most of them disagree on how to style her spines, so her hairdo sometimes gets changed. She is considered "exiled" to most salmon polities, and would be rejected upon attempts to return her to them. If she wants to, she will probably be able to try to marry into a local clan as an adult.

When I was 13 I would wear the next day's clothes to bed because I was worried that one day some kind of emergency would happen and I would be stuck outside and everybody would see my goofy pajamas. No kind of incident ever happened, but I DID spend an entire year sleeping in jeans. I am reminded of this every time I look at Kris.
